Title:
Influence of block effects on growth curve fitting obtained by three different methods of estimation. Part I.
Language:
Polish
Keywords:
growth curve methods
goodness of fit
influence of block effects
determination coefficient
mean determination coefficient
Summary:
The problem of the influence of block effects in analysis of experimental data by means of growth curve methods with regard to estimation of parameters is considered. The question is whether block effects which have been proved insignificant in the preliminary analysis may be ignored in the analysis employing growth curve methods. The polynomial curves are estimated by means of three different methods: Potthoff-Roy’s method and two growth curve methods with the concomitant variables changing in time.
The suitable adapted determinant coefficients and the mean determinant coefficient have been applied as a measure of fitting.
The research has been carried out with the employment of real-life data.
