Summary:
It was attempted in the paper to evaluate field cultivation experiments: five-year trials with three winter triticale varieties (Grado, Presto, Ugo) and three-year trials with two potato varieties (Irga, Ekra). The evaluation was related to the methodological correctness of the setup of the trials. The coefficients of regression and correlation between the experimental unit location and the values of selected quantitative characteristics of winter triticale and potato were chosen as the measures of the correctness. The values of the coefficients reflected the course of the dominating soil variability. The limitations imposed on block designs were more strictly observed in the case of the winter triticale experiments in which the number of significantly and highly significantly different from zero coefficients of regression and correlation was half the number of the coefficients computed in respect to the potato experiments.
