Title:
Multivariate methods used in analysis of four-cut trial on Festulolium cultivars
Language:
English
Keywords:
dry matter yield
Festulolium cultivars
multicut experiments
supplemented block design
multivariate statistical analysis
canonical variate analysis
Summary:
The application of multivariate statistical methods for results of a four-cut experiment with six cultivars and strains of Festulolium (
Festuca pratensis x Lolium multiforum
and
Lolium perenne x Festuca pratensis
) is presented. The experiment was carried out in a supplemented block design in one localization in two successive years 1999 and 2000.Among other traits the dry matter yield was observed. The applied methods consist of multivariate analysis of variance with testing the general and particular hypotheses. Hypotheses of the equality of all cultivar/strain main effects and hypotheses concerning the differences between the cuts, years with respect to dry matter yield are verified. Also the hypothesis of no cultivars/strains – cuts interaction within the years is tested with appropriate multivariate test statistic. For graphical presentation of cultivars/strains on a plane with regard to all cuts in the given year and in two years, canonical analysis is used.
