AMMI model for statistical analysis of data from multienvironment genotype yield trials

Summary:
The objectives of the paper were to present the theory and using additive main effects and multiplicative interaction model (AMMI model) for analysis and interpreting response of genotypes for quantitative traits (mostly yield) to variable environments, including specially genotype x environment interaction (GEI) effects. A procedure based on AMMI model, called usually AMMI analysis, is very effective for interpreting different aspects of genotypic and GE effects of tested genotypes in a target region. Using AMMI analysis and its usefulness were illustrated by an experimental example of a yearly regional winter wheat yield trial.
