Title:
A comparison of bootstrap methods applied to an estimation of different weed management ways influence on competition ability of weed
Language:
Polish
Keywords:
competition index
confidence intervals
bootstrap methods
Summary:
Competition ability of winter wheat Cobra cultivar to weeds with different methods of weed management was examined. A simplified competition index was used to assess this ability. Experimental treatments, which were compared, concerned different weed management ways: no treatment, harrow after wheat emergence, harrow in tillering stage, herbicide and a combination of these treatments. Competition indices were calculated for all these treatments and compared with each other. Confidence intervals for competition indices differences were estimated to establish significant influence of treatments on competition ability of a wheat cultivar to weeds. Confidence intervals were constructed by three bootstrap methods: percentile, bias-corrected and accelerated. The results obtained from these methods were compared.
