Summary:
F tests are derived for designs, possibly incomplete and unbalanced, in which the factors fall into two groups without cross interactions. To do this the factors in both groups are pooled into two new factors so that they will be an intermediate two-factor without interaction model. Least square estimators for the non redundant parameters of the intermediate model are obtained. The estimators and the sum of squares of the residues for the available treatments are then used to test hypothesis of factor effects and interactions between factors in the same group.
