Summary:
In the paper we present a method of finding the dependency function of two variables based on the projection of experimental points on tangential to function. The method of calculation of unknown parameters in function is presented in the case of linear relation between variables. This function is compared with the regression function from the least squares method. Both methods are illustrated by the experimental data set on the sprayer in farm production. In the paper we introduce some measure of fitting line to experimental data. We compare this measure with determination coefficient in the regression line on generated data sets from bivariate normal distribution with fixed expected values, variances and correlation coefficient.
