Summary:
The basic models concerning statistical evaluation of metaanalysis were presented. The metaanalysis was defined as the procedure of systematic, formal review of results of scientific research performed on selected problem. Two models of analysis were described: fixed and random for estimation of binary effect of investigated trials. A test of homogeneity of effects was presented. As example of application, the data of Polish Part of European Multifactor Prevention Trial were evaluated.
