 Administrative units of Poland in terms of environmental protection parameters

Summary:
In the paper we make the structural analysis of multidimensional statistical data, characterising the status of environmental protection in administrative districts throughout Poland. An original approach was proposed, based on the variation coefficient, matrix-vector reduction and the method of creating uniform groups of multidimensional data. The regional units, grouped in clusters of objects with similar structure, were voivodeships, larger administrative units composed of districts. Regional diversity of Poland, in terms of a selected set of characteristics describing the natural environment, was illustrated with colour pictures presenting the map of Poland with marked outlines of administrative districts and regions.
