Title:
Search for the best spatial model in variety testing trials on wheat
Language:

Summary:
In the paper the results of searching for the spatial model that fits the best (among all considered) to the wheat trial data are reported. The results of more than one hundred trials performed for assessing variety performance form a basis for all investigations. The considered trials were performed in 1-resolvable incomplete blocks, but for purposes of this paper the applied design was partly disregarded. Only division of experimental material into complete superblocks (replicates) was taken into account when the residuals were calculated. These residuals were next used for calculating empirical semivariances. Ten different models for semivariance (so called semivariograms) were fitted and the best model was indicated.
