Title:
Methods of breeding characteristic effect comparisons in F1 and F2 of spring rape diallel
Language:

block designs
statistical inference
Summary:
The paper deals with a problem of selecting experimental units in breeding experiments. As the observation we can take the measurement on particular plant or average of the measurements taken on a few plants. Additionally, we compare the consequences of three approaches to a statistical analysis of the experiment in relation to inference on general combining abilities, specific combining abilities and reciprocal cross effects. These approaches result from different treating the partially balanced lattice squares design that was applied in diallel cross experiment. The above considerations are illustrated with the example of diallel cross experiment with spring rape.
