Summary:
A proposition concerning designing experiments with two kinds of treatments is presented in the paper. The treatments are often called basic and supplementary (control, standard) treatments. Since in many cases there is a large number of the treatments in experiment, a supplemented nested incomplete block design is proposed. The basic treatments are arranged in an (α12,...,αR) - resolvable block design. The supplementation of the basic is based on adding the supplementary treatments to all blocks of each superblock. We assume that each superblock contains another group of these treatments. The choice of a design (from the considered class) optimal for the efficiency estimation of the defined groups of contrasts is easy using the proposed method.
