Summary:
The paper studies the problem of estimation of the weights of p objects in n weighings using a chemical balance weighing design under the restriction p1+p2<p, where p1 and p2 represent the number of objects placed on the right and left pan, respectively. The incidence matrices of two ternary balanced block designs for v treatments are used to construct chemical balance weighing designs of p=v+1 objects. The conditions for uncorrelated estimates of unknown weights are given.
