Summary:
The aim of the paper was an evaluation of biological effects of young stand of Scottish pine growing in the direct neighbourhood of busy route in Poznań city. Physical features of pine needles (length and biomass) were used as indicators of reaction to the negative impact of traffic. Research revealed that needles collected from trees from the zone A (road neighborhood) were smaller in terms of their length and biomass in comparison to trees growing in the Zones B and C.
